The Town of Cohasset is located approximately 25 miles south of Boston. Cohasset covers approximately 9 square miles and has a rocky shoreline. Cohasset, named Quonhasset, or long rock place by Native Americans, was incorporated in 1770. During the 18th and 19th centuries Cohasset became a seafaring village.and its economy was built on fishing and ship building.
