Walden Pond
The Town of Concord is a historic town and was a frontier outpost of the Massachusetts Bay Colony settled by the English and was the first interior non-tidal town in Massachusetts. The Concord green was the site of the Battle of Concord during the Revolutionary War. This green still maintains many well preserved colonial homes. Concord also has a significant literary history. At some time during their lives, Concord was home to Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson,and Nathaniel Hawthorne. David Thoreau wrote his internationally known philosophical treatise at Walden Pond in Concord . Presently as a western suburb of Boston and close proximity to 128 and the Technical /Industrial corridor , land values have skyrocketed .
