Plimoth Plantation
The Town of Plymoth is a coastal community in southeastern Massachusetts approximately 5 miles north of Cape Cod Canal. The site of the original 1620 settlement and the infamous Plymouth Rock are now located in the downtown harbor district.The develpoment of the harbor district has allowed Plymouth to become a great tourist destination. Plymouth has the largest area of any town in the Commonwealth. For most of its existence, Plymouth was an isolated seacoast area where its economy was based on the sea and shipping. In modern times with easier accessibility to the Boston metropolitan area Plymouth's population has siginificantly increased.
